Movie!
Been contacted this week by a major feature film company to acquire the movie rights to my book. Excited, but been scrambling to find an agency to help me navigate through the rest of this process as I'm currently unrepresented in this area. Any gracious readers in the entertainment field please send me any contacts you may have of your own personal Ari. You will be rewarded with a high five from a millionaire at the very least.
Simultaneously, I'm also auditioning to outfit my entourage. Groupies need not apply.

Hey Millionaire!!!
I am interested in acting as your entourage.
Please let me know if you find me suitable.
Thanks!
Hey Alan, if one major production company is offering you a price for your book rights, call another big prod co. and ask to speak to their acquisitions and tell them the situation, then ask what they're willing to pay for it.
I'd also take a look at your lit agent's agreement just to make sure there isn't a clause in there regarding feature book rights, they may already have a claw in it and if that's the case, have your agent start the bidding war.
Cheers.
Alan,
Reading your book and was drawn to the blog. Assume you've found an agent by now. If not, I would contact an entertainment lawyer first. You're slick but not like these guys. If you are in NY contact Franklin, Rudell, Weinrib, & Vassalo. They have integrity and represent tons of big authors. Mike Rudell is a principal. I have referred Katherine Paterson, Bridge At Terabithia to Dan Wasser, who handles my affairs and is steady and shrewd. Good luck.
Thanks everyone for the leads, much appreciated! I'm still working it out, but it's moving forward nicely.
